Rockie Zeigler III

CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ & IRS Enrolled Agent

Hi, I'm Rockie Zeigler III. I’m basically a lifelong Central Illinoisan. I grew up in Normal, then moved to Peoria in the summer of 2000 and I’ve been here ever since. I graduated from Bradley University in 2003 and I also completed studies at the College For Financial Planning.

I have four amazing kids and a wonderful wife. Astrid (11), Murphy (9), Clarke (7) and Crosby (7). Yes, you read that right. The last two are twins.

There's my crew on the 4th of July 2019, at Dozer Park.

Alright, what else? I love Notre Dame football, and everything about golf. Also, I'm also 90's music junkie. Since my two oldest girls have fallen in love with softball, I have gotten into it myself. So, now I enjoy helping coach both of their teams, as well coordinating round robin tournaments for the Dunlap travel softball teams.

I’ve been featured in media outlets such as CNBC, US News & World Report, The Huffington Post, The Peoria Journal Star, WYZZ Fox 43 Peoria and WMBD TV. I'm also a contributor to the new financial blog MoneyGeek.

I’m a CFP® (CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™) Professional. Roughly 70% of 'financial advisors' ARE NOT certified in financial planning. Keep that in mind as you're looking to hire a financial planner.

I'm also an Enrolled Agent with the IRS. Yes, that IRS. What does that mean? Well, according to the IRS, an EA certificate is an elite credential issued by the IRS to tax professionals who demonstrate special competence in federal tax planning, individual and business tax return preparation, and representation matters. Pretty cool, huh?

I'm a member of The XY Planning Network which is a national network of financial planners. We don't have minimum asset requirements, we don't accept commissions, we don't have pushy sales tactics and we're all sworn fiduciaries.

I'm also a member of of the National Association Of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) as well as the Fee-Only Network. NAPFA is the country’s leading professional association of Fee-Only financial advisors—highly trained professionals who are committed to working in the best interests of those they assist. NAPFA has high standards in the financial advice field. Each advisor is required to sign and renew a fiduciary oath, as well as subscribe to a strict code of ethics.

I'm a believer in volunteering my time and expertise. Currently, I volunteer at the following places:

  • Dunlap Girls Softball Association Board Member. As the tournament coordinator, I am responsible for coordinating and hosting round robin style tournaments for our Dunalp travel softball teams.
  • AARP Tax-Aide/Tax Prep Volunteer. AARP tax-aides provide in-person and virtual tax assistance free of charge with a special focus on taxpayers who are over 50 or have low-to-moderate income. Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide and are trained and IRS-certified every year.
